Hi everyone, I just bought a 96 200sx se-r (b14 I think) and wanted to do a swap. I know the stock sr20de motor is pretty good already but i want to go turbo. I was thinking of swapping in the bluebird u12 or u13 sr20det motor. My question is, will this swap be as easy as dropping it in? Could I use the motor mounts, axles and shift linkage from my stock se-r motor? And what about the AWD tranny from the u12 and u13? Can i just dissable the rear and use it as a FWD tranny or is it better to just bolt my se-r tranny onto the sr20det motor? Thanks a lot.

keep your stock tranny, as long as you have the sr20 now the bluebird motor should drop in with the exception of intercooler piping and wiring and shit

Tell you what, dude. Assuming your stock SR20DE is still in good shape, just hit up www.jgycustoms.com and grab the $1800 turbo kit. You'll get an inspected turbo, all the supporting components, and a nice front mount intercooler. Plus it should be easier and cheaper to install than an entire motor swap.
Also, you'll be making a bit more power on your 9.5:1 American DE instead of the 8.5:1 JDM version.
