Cracked Cylinder Head 99 Rodeo

I have my mechanic checking the cylinder head thanks your guys advice. My question is if it is a cracked cylinder head, is this something that could be welded? I work in a machine shop and have 2 welders at my disposal. I was also told that it might be a job for silver solder. Any ideas?
99 Rodeo 4x4 67000miles.
