I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX VTEC Sedan. When the A/C compressor kicks in at idle, the engine idles down and labors/shudders. Isn't there a compressor idle up valve and where is it located? How do you adjust this??

I think I have the same problem, do you also get really low acceleration with the A/C on? Every now and then when running, it will pull alittle, is that normal? :screwy:

Read the post again; this happens at idle in Park or Neutral. On my Toyota pickup there is an idle up valve to idle the engine up to 1100 rpms when the compressor kicks in...I was just wondering where this adjustment is on the Civic...

Oh, I C... I have the answer... that idle adjustment is right around where the intake goes. its the one that is facing the same direction as where the intake goes. I hope that helps, I haven't taken a picture.

This is actually normal. The A/C uses a lot of power from the engine in order for it to run.
