ok i have a carb set up, and i have a tech, and i dont know witch wire the green wire goes to. i thought it was the black one on the coil, that was the wire i had it on when i had efi any ways, but it does not work. is carb different thanks.

Why downgrade from efi?
Anywho the green wire goes to the negative ignition terminal or tachometer plug.....you should have a tacho plug.

i do have a tech metear plug on my msd intion box, but i think its off or somthing, when i rev the engine it ses it only at 3000 rpm when it sound like its at 5500 or 6000 rpm, so i dont know,

5500 - 6000 seems a bit high for a good 5.0 rev doesn't it?

I had the same problem with my car when I bought it. It had a POS nearly blowup 302 in it. Carb leaked, intake leaked, valve seals where shot, valve covers leaked, smoked BAD! (valve seals), ect ect ect. I could rev the poor thing till it floated the valves and the tach would bounce at 3k and not go any higher. This is a factory 4cyl car. I never bothered fixing the problem after I went thrue 6 quarts of oil in 15 miles.

I owned a CVH Escort years ago.......many years ago.....
I threw a cam and decided to drive home on it (Almost 15 miles, 5 quarts oil, 8 gallons gas).............I miss that car.....it had a CD player in it.

Digital 6 plus intion control Pn6520, and not sure about the tech its some off the wall brand i know that, but it worked in my old engine so i know the tech works.

You are talking about a tachometer right?

Okay you have a rev limiter try adjusting it to see if it effects your tachometer if not you might need to get a magnetic adapter. It would help if we knew the tachometer brand.

um the rev limiter only works when a 12v source is sent to to the pink wire, witch i dont have hooked up, and i just looked all over the tech and it does not have any sort of brand on it,
