1999 Accord LX. The CD changer won't eject. :banghead:

The CD changer is in the center console vertically between the front seats. I think it is this way from the factory. I am pretty sure there are at least a couple of CDs in the carrier. It quit playing. POOF!!

The CD changer seems to be getting power, or at least a signal to the in-dash part. When I push the EJECT button the display in the dash unit changes to three dashes " --- " for a few seconds. Then nothing happens.

The radio and cassette player work fine. When I push the CD Player button on the dash unit, the display comes up with " E-01 ". The owners manual says the E-01 code means I am supposed to take it to the dealer.

I could live without having the CD Player functioning in the car if it comes to that, but I would like for it to cough up the CDs. Is there any way to make this happen without taking it to the dealer and handing over a fist-full of dollars?

The CD Changer in the console (under the armrest) is a factory option. If you go to places like http://www.handaaccessories.com/ and look up the accessories for a 1999, they have the instructions on how to install the unit.

It may be that you have a connection loose, or perhaps a bad fuse (?). Checking the installation instructions, you might be able to check all the wiring and backtrack on the installation to see if there is something obvious.

You might also search through:

Maybe you have a CD out of place? If so, you'll probably need to remove the unit, take off the outer case and figure out how get the cartridge out....

Good luck...Glen
