I just got a 97 4runner V6 and I am looking for an Amsoil air filter but their website only gives a product number for the WIX filter and not the Ea Air Filter. Do they not make a filter for this truck? If not should I go with a K&N or paper filter like fram. I am going to remove the elbow from the air box so I would like to get filter with less air restriction. Thanks.

I have a reusable oiled filter sold by TRD (A&E) and it works fine. I would recommend it. It is made of cotton fibers.
As with any oil-whetted element, be careful not to over-oil it after you clean it. If you do, you will have to clean your MAF meter (P0171 code). You can guess how I know this.
I wash mine first with the recommended detergent you buy along with the oil in the maintenance kit. Then rinse off the detergent.
Then I soak it for a few hours in hot water (not boiling) containing a small amount of dishwashing detergent. Alot of more dirt comes off the filter by soaking it with the dishwashing detergent. Rinse the filter by soaking it a couple of times in warm water for an hour or two.
Dry it by putting it somewhere windy or on a register in your house overnight.
To oil the element, drip on the special oil 5 or 6 drops on every pleat (one side only) and then let it sit for a couple of hours. Look for dry spots (they will be a different color) and put one drop on any dry spots. Let it sit for a couple more hours and then it is GTG.
Keep your old air filter element for use while you are screwing around with the oil-whetted filter element.
