rear end gear interchangeably years?

i have a 95 blazer with the 3.42 open diff i was wondering what years i can take a gear assbily from to replace mine i would like to know if i can swap in a g80 limited slip 3.42 without modifycaitons? and how do i get the gears out ? any imput is apprated thanks
