How do HJC helmets stack up?

Specifically the carbon fiber one. It's on newenough.com, I don't have the link handy. I imagine it'd be super lightweight at least.

I dont know about that specific one, but Ive had HJC helmets and Shoei and for the money, the HJC stack up well. You get what you pay for though, so Shoei is a better helmet I think, but I like HJC because of the price difference.

Full face Helmets are usually dual fiber glass, with few that are kevlar (never saw one though). So that's not carbon fiber, different material.

Doesn't seem like the high quality carbon fiber I was thinking, it's a composite, plus why use resin ?? It might serve its purpose, but I would stick with the lighter helmets - Shoei, Suomy, Arai, etc. I have a spare HJC, I never use it, it's very heavy.

If it fits you well, but it. If it doesn't, don't bother with it.

I LOVE my AC-11, but have no experience with the new carbon fiber one. It isn't heavy, but it isn't the lightest. It just fits my head perfectly. I plan on buying another HJC next year when my 5 years are up on the current helmet.

Fiberglass and Carbon fiber are fabric before you apply the resin, so if you want something solid and not just flexible fabric you gotta use resin.

I would stick with Shoei an Arai, can't put a price on your head.

That, and the Shoei air vents work a lot better than the HJCs do...I know that for certain. As far as protection, I dont think that the HJC will crush or crack in an accident any more easily than the Shoei...just the quality of looks and comfort of the Shoei will be better.
