What exactly is and how exactly do you you this Seafoam product? I assume it is a cleansing agent and is applied sort of like carb cleaner? When should you get and use this stuff? I see it mentioned a LOT here.
Thanks,

Seafoam is a multi use product used mainly for cleaning engines. Ingested through either the PCV or power brake vacuum hose, it will decarbonize everything from the point of ingestion to the combustion chambers. Poured into the fuel tank, it will clean the entire fuel system and lubricate the upper cylinder walls in the engine. Added to the oil, it will clean everywhere that the oil goes. It is 100% petroleum and will not attack seals, plastics, steel or rubber. It's not a "miracle mechanic in a can" by any means, but if it’s used correctly, it can noticeably improve certain problems.

Kwel...Is this available at common auto parts stores? Do you think it is worth just putting some in the various systems to help with performance? Also, is this a liquid, foam (duh), or a spray?
Tnx for the info!

I love the stuff It is at most of the major parts stores wal mart ect..I use it in all of my engines including the weed wacker. I put about a cup per every other tank of gas to clean tank pump injectors ect. I put about 3 ozs in the oil just before I change it and take a run to flush the gunk out of the engine. I recently rebuilt my 88 4.3 and the inside of that engine (198K Miles) looked new as far as the gunk buildup. It works

down here, it's at autozone, advanced auto parts, look close by the mechanic in a can stuff next to the techron and that stuff. i gotta go with the "if used regularly and correctly," it does help remove crud, sludge, etc. just one more good tool in the toolbox for car care.:icon16::icon16:

while seafoam really helped out clear all the carbon build up in my engine it caused multiple misfires on my cylinders. if you do use seafoam be prepared to change your spark plugs.
btw, my suv has never run so smooth after using seafoam. it sounds and runs like new again! but like i said be prepared to change those sparkplugs.

IF USED REGULARLY, THE PLUGS WILL NOT FOUL, AS THERE WON'T BE AS MUCH CRUD TO SUCK OUT. oop, sorry, didn't mean to yell, caps on by accident. anyway, when i use seafoam, i spend the extra few buck an when my jimmym is at 1/4 tanks, i put on the right amount of seafoam for 12 gals, and put 93 octane in to help get the gunk off the plugs, also, take her out and run up the rpm's a little and the plugs get a chance to heat up an flake the junk off.
another seafom beleiver!!!
get er' done! ! :icon16::icon16:

well for the first time you use seafoam your more than likely going to have to change those spark plugs depending on the mileage of your jimmy. my car has 153,000 miles on it, never used any injector or engine cleaner before, not really surprised it messed up the spark plugs.

Seafoam is amazing. I used it the other day and it not only looked really sweet when all the smoke came bellowing out my exhaust but my Jimmy has run a whole lot better. I would recomend using it to anyone.
