The next generation of Evos...

I donno how many of you guys have seen it but Mitsubishi is giving the next generation of Evo's a facelift with a few new tricks. The "Concept X" produces over 300 hp from the good ol 4g63t with some slight changes and is coupled with a twin disc clutch and a stronger AWD system.

Its set to be released in 2007 and I'm sure some of us in here will be first in line to buy one. I know I may consider it. :wink:

ugly IMO, loses the rally look

I like it, it would be one sweet ass daily beater. I could build my GSX for a dedicated drag car. But I really cant justify what they want for new cars. But maybe someday.

I would be first in line for an Evo when that came out... an Evo 8. Looks kinda cool, but besides 2gb's and 1ga's the Evo 8 is the sexiest car on the road.

The evo x won't have the 4g63, they said they were retiring it for the new motor which will do the 300hp stock.

Yea, I read an article that it is not the 4g63 anymore. Heard it is more of a car to compete with high end sedans, not fast imports. Its sappose to be a mess to work on, turbo is in between the engine and firewall, etc. It is kind of sad, I wanted to by a brand new 4g63 one day.

And for the turbo being between the firewall and engine, watch it have the same problems like the srt4 did when it 1st came out, burning up turbos left and right lol. One of my friends have one and if he does 1 pass up the road and back the damn turbo is cherry red!!! the entire thing!!

The 4g ralliart eclipse comes to mind lol.......That would be so freakin amazing, I would buy it on the spot, even if they produced it without all the HKS goodies...... but sadly it's only a concept that will never see a showroom floor :(

The Evo will never turn out like that. The 4g eclipse looks 1/2 of what the concept Eclipse looked like. All it's going to be is a mix of the current evo and the concept one, which will probably be ugly. Mitsu is really going to go down the drain quick if they don't quit teasing everyone with these badass concept cars and then barely change what the previous model was for the actual production car.

And I agree with Killer, it reminds me of a new Honduh.

EDIT: Actuall, now that I look at it, it looks like they took the front end off of a Magnum, the middle off of an SRT-4 and the rear end of an RSX and came up with that. Ugly IMO.

I think it looks sexy. However, I really do not like the whole family sedan idea. 4 door... ewwww. I wish it was more sporty/import instead of the soccer mom thing they got going on. I do like the front of it though. The headlights make it look like it is pissed off.

I like the four doors, especially for a car that will be on the street. Owning a 1g makeas me miss being able to be the one that drives and fitting a few people in my car. The back seats are pointless on a 1g. I think 2g's are a little room'ier. But thats why I'd love an evo, besides the engine and goodies, the space is sweet to have.

I like the new EVO. I think it looks a lot more mean then the current ones. Besides its time for a change. I bet that new engin will be a little more powerful and prove itself to be a little more stronger maybe. The EVo's body's change every 3 models. The front of the EVO X looks badass, also the front headlights are alwesome. New AWD system and a powerful engine will possibly challenge the new V8's that come out. Personally if I had the money I would defenitly buy it. My opinion: Let the EVO 10 prove itself. Maybe people are just used to the old body's and 4g63 engine but its time for a change. Lets hope its just a good one.

I personally think the new Evo looks very sharp. The new Evo design, along with the new Outlander, suggests Mitsubishi's new design thesis: sharp, swept back aerodynamics; a weclome departure from the bulbous, ugly and baseless "nose" ideology they have had going for a while now.

If you want "ugly", you need to look no further than the new generation of Subaru WRX's. I have nothing against them, but good god have they always been ugly as sin: first, we had to get used to the bug-eyes, and now, the retarded Tribeca-styled split grill.

I hated the new subie at first too, but it's already started to grow on me.

I think the front looks really nice, the side profile isn't too bad - I kinda like the Tiburon-esque vent things leading into the door. The rear looks like shit with those stupid taillights, and the wing isn't too sharp looking. The interior also looks like total poo. :2cents:

I think it looks like a cross between a new Mudstain and a 3g or something. I'm not too impressed. I'm also sad to see the 4g63 go, but it's easy to forget that motor is like 18 years old! Probably time for an update. I'm glad I got into an EVO now while I still like them, I'm sure I'll own it for a long time to come. Shit, I'll be paying it off for long enough...
