Just got a 94 9C1, with 157K miles on the body, and 50K on engine / Trans combo (or so told). The car looks clean, when I picked it up it ran and drive like it was brand new, went fast, shifted well, it was perfect. Driving it around later that day, I came to a stop light, as I left I gave it gas, and it seemed like the car was taking off in 3rd or 4th gear. The car wasnt hesitating, it was just going veeeery slow. I drove it to AutoZone, and put it in park. When we left, the Reverse gear went out! we had to put it in N and push it out of the spot. Well we got it out of the parking spot and took it to my friends house.

Drove it around the next day for less then 2 miles, and noticed the car would go forward in all gears, including neutral! Which is really weird. However in park, the car when I go to rev it, goes to only 2.5K max. It seems like there is a limiter. however when you drive it, it doesnt limit.. :screwy:

What is up with my car? And now, I cannot drive it at all because my friend drove it into his driveway, which is inclinded! Car goes forward in all gears, will not roll back at all. Is it my transmission, my diff, my motor? What is it?

There was one sensor the guy showed me, off the intake manifold under the throttle body, that he said MIGHT need to be replaced. It made the check engine light come on and made the car hesitate. Could that be what is causing my problem??

Check the linkage for the shifter - if this is adjusted right, start shopping for a replacement transmission.

yeah, ditto. if the linkage to the transmission is off, it will say that it is in drive, but it will really be in neutral or third, or any other gear if it is loose and flopping around. it dosent sound like a bad tras though, more like something that controls the trans went bad.
good luck!
