GTI line up

Hi everybody
At the momentim im building a series which i dont think anybody has ever done before, if someone has, please send me pics. this is the line up mk1 golf (mitsuwa), mk2 golf (fujimi) mk3 golf (fujimi) and a mk4 golf (tamiya). As far as i know there is no MK5 available in a plastic kit so i might go the diecast way. If anybody has any info about plastic 1/24 mk5's please let me know. nuf said here's the pix

Did you searched too much to find the MK3 and the MK4? Damn,I dont find them anywhere.....how much did you paid for them??

actually i found that the mk1's was harder to find than the mk3 and mk4's. the mk3 is a fujimi VR6 kit and plentyfull on ebay and i think hobbylink japan has a few for sale, try www.hlj.com for them. i paid $17 for the mk3 and $26 for the mk4. thanx again

I have a MkII to build and I've built a MkIV. I know the MkIII's are available but not been able to find a MkI

thanx for the kind words guys. The rims on the mk1 is a cheap BBS rs rim which i got off a diecast BMW 850. the look im going for is a subtle german lowder/tuner look outside and full race inside. Im currently busy with the mk4. will be red inside with sparco race accessories. there is alot of aftermarket tuner accessories, but very expensive and most of the race seats are poor quality. What i did, i went and bought a rally peugot 206 and striped all the parts from it. came with very nice race seats, 2 awesome steering wheels, 2 sets of rims, nice brake disks, etc. this is the look im gonna have for my mk4. enjoy.

Don't know how i missed this thread, seeing how i love vdubs and even own one. Love to see these done. Reflex silver is a good color for them. The black out lights on the mk4 are nice gives them that anniversary look. I'm liking the interior also. One question though did you use clear on the body, because with metallic colors you need clear to make them shine. Keep us posted.

this is one heck of a great project as is the idea of making all of those. the interior work is very nicely done, keep up the good work.

thanx guys for the kind words. the interior is far from done, lotsa detail still to come. there is clear on that silver body, MidMazar, its just not polished yet.

Looking very good so far. If this is how it looks when it's still under constructions, I can't wait to see the finished product.

I like the wheel choice, i think i might pick up a pair for my r32 build, one suggestion would be to smoke the taillights.

thanx for the kind words guys. Yes the tail lights will become smoked, however the centre two bars of the tail light will remain clear.

Looks great - steering wheel is on the wrong side though! :)

Looking good so far. It's amazing how different a wheel can look with a little dish. Looking forward to seeing the entire line up complete.

Looking quite good. I like the blacked out headlamps and tails, that's something that's pretty unique to VW tuners and looks really cool. I've been looking everywhere for this kit, where did you find yours?
