BC button won't change display

My 2001 X5 used to change the dash display by pulsing the BC button on the stalk on the steering column. It does nothing now. Checked all the fuses and all seem good. Any ideas?

Any answers to this problem?

My 2004 X5 did that and I had to have the radio front panel replaced.
