If i get what? The subs should be in my hand wedesday, give me a few dayz for the install an pics will be up. Actually i'll prob. post pics of the subs themselves. Ray at SS is having MAD doubts about them though, Noah I would like some MORE (lol) insight about these from ya if you have personal experience with them.

8's are a good choice for a hatchback or smaller car, where the resonant freq of the interior is higher. I saw a dude hit like 145 dB with 3 8's in a hatch, it was kinda scary.

no hatch or small CAR here.

paul, have you seen 153.2 with 2 10's in a hatch? that IS scary ;) especailly since he wasnt running 100% since it was just a x1 event.

unfortunately, that kind of output from that small of a displacement does not sound good. I think the record with 1 10" is like 160+ ...... now THAT'S making the most of what you have.

160 in street A regulations? no
172.X is the record for 2 12's that is amazing.

I don't know all the different SPL classes and whatever ..... but I do remember that dude. It was like a LA sound sub or something ..... not a normal SPL sub you would see in the lanes every weekend.

Street A limits you to below the window line and behind the drivers seat, no body modifications or cement filling, one battery, engine off, 2 runs of cable, and no bup button. 2 10's or 1 12 is the most cone area you can get i beleive. 3 8's is also allowed or 4 6.5's if i remeber right.
The 153 i saw was in a 1x meet in fernindina beach...the guy was on team kicker and he won by 8-9dB i think...guy beind 2nd place didnt even break 140 so its obvious he want pusing it full tilt, he was just showing off. It was in a CRX with two seperate pressure boxes ports firing back, subs firing forward right behind the seats. He had 4 4" aero ports on each box and it was a pair of SoloX 10's. wasnt sure of the amp, KX series i beleive.
he was with another guy who was also with team kicker also with a CRX in street B who did a 154 with 2 12's...also not doing full tilt also winning by a large margin.

seems like some good numbers, but if they were running iasca rules I am sure there are a few guys over here that could spank them. Don't remember exactly what my buddy was doing locally, but I think he was doing about mid 150s in a rex with a pair of 10s. Pair of 12s, I forgot his setup to be honest. I remember when he pulled mid 150s in his truck with two kickers. It all comes down to the mic though really. I remember when one of our teammates held the world record going into finals and we worked on his car the whole time at finals. It was I think either low to mid 150s or 160s forgot which, the world record changed 3 times that show it was funny.

Thoes are some awsome numbers as well. But different mics different rules who knows where thoes CRX's would be on audiocontroll and under iasca regulations.

termpro "mic" is a LOT stict because it is a pressure sensor only, a regular mic is also velocity sensitive - that's why with a normal mic, opening a window or two will raise the reading a lot more.
CBFryman

opening doors with term lab raises the SPL reading as well, but not because of greater velocity.
audiocontroll is crazy inaccurate after a dozen or so 160+ dB pulls. you will never see 180.3 on term lab, not because the pressure sensor cant read that high but because of accuracy. not bashing scott owens because 180.3dB on audiocontroll is very impressive.
ive seen a system do 153 on AC and next run, everything the same, the best they could pull was 145...
