Ok, I'm sick of seeing different numbers every time I try to find out how much my 91 gt vert weighs. Has anyone out there with a gt vert actually weighed it??? I've seen numbers ranging from 3300-3700 lbs and I'd really like a number from someone that has scaled the vehicle.

depends on options, if the rims were changed out. aftermarket parts can chasnge the weight too.

Thats what the scales read. I had a little over a half of a tank of gas. The scales were fairly new. The tremec weighs a bit more than the t-5 so thats would account for a little bit of it.

No, thats without the driver and a little over a half of a tank of gas. Remember, its the convertible. I would draw the accuracy of the scales into question but they were brand new scales that the school just bought.

1991 Mustang GT Convertible 2996lbs
1992 Mustang GT Coupe 2775lbs
1991 Mustang GT Hatchback 2834lbs
pounds per pint * grams per militer = pounds per gallon * intank gallons + curb weight = gaw

8lb/pt * 0.75g/ml = 6lb/g * 8gal + 2996lbs = 3044lbs

I suggest taking the dead bodies out of the trunk because you are have some serious weight issues.

2006 Mustang 2-Door Coupe, SOHC 4.6L(281) 3373lbs
2006 Mustang Convertible, SOHC 4.6L(281) 3476lbs Check to see if that scale is properly calibrated and that no-one is standing on it............

and take the dead bodies out of the trunk....

He also has a tremec and subframes, there's added weight right there. I also think those numbers look a little low, I'm going to cross reference those and double check, just to varify, cause it has me curious now.

Tremec 3550: 100lbs
AOD: 135lbs
Borg Warner T-5: 85lbs

And I am guessing he probably went with the KBP subframe conectors and traction bars which would only add about 65lbs.

So at the most he should be about 3150lbs.

Just looked it up in my book.

91 Mustang GT, factory shipping weight-3,327 lbs.

Other 91's for reference.

Body/4cyl/8cyl; as follows.

Coupe/2,759/3,037
LX hatch/2,824/3,102
LX vert/2,960/3,238
GT hatch/3,191
GT vert/3,327

I knew that 2,966 sounded a little light for a Fox GT vert.

Reference source;
Standard catalog of Mustang, by Brab Bowling.

I also referenced a second source of mine. It lists GT verts weighting 3,442lbs for auto tranny and 3,327lbs for manual tranny.
Source info;
The offical Ford Mustang Technical Reference & Performance Handbook, by Al Kirschenbaum.
