93 6.5 turbo diesel hot start problem

My 93 6,5 diesel Silverado occasionally will not start on a hot day usually after sitting for an hour or so. If I leave it for another hour it will fire right up, in fact the colder it is the better it starts, even in mid winter.
This truck has a standard transmission so doesn’t have electronic PMD on the injector pump. Any ideas please?
