Now that We solve the over heating problem I have 2 more minor problems.
My carvan has 70.000 miles and it has a 3.0 engine. First problem is my ABS light came on about a week ago it comes on about 5 seconds after i start to drive but the brakes feel fine. second problem is that my blower for the heat and air only works on high and not medium or low. Also I am wondering is it true that some vans that hwere made in 94 have mitsubishi engines instead of chryser engines and if my engine was a mitsubishi wouldn't it say it on the engine block. I am asking because that what my mechcanic is telling me but when I look at my engine it reads chryser on the block and not mitsubishi:banghead:
Thanks michael

Your ABS system is a computer controlled accessory to the service brake system. The ABS system continuously monitors the function of the service brake system, but only activates when the brake pedal is applied and a wheel stops turning. Function of the ABS system is not required for the service brakes to function during normal driving. Driving your van with the ABS light on continuously is just like driving any other car without an ABS system, if you stomp on the brake pedal, one or more wheels will lock up until the pedal is released. Each time you start your van, the ABS computer runs a self-diagnosis of the ABS components. If an anomoly is found in the system, the computer will turn on the ABS light and record a trouble code in the ABS computer. The ABS light is to your ABS system what the "Check Engine" light is to the engine computer. The problem with the ABS system could be as simple as one dirty wheel sensor or something more complicated. I suggest having the trouble codes read on your ABS computer.
The problem with your blower fan could either be a bad fan switch in your dashboard or bad ciruits in the motor itself. Start at the switch and work your way to the motor.
The 3.0L overhead cam V6 used in the Chrysler-built vans since 1989 was originally designed and built by Mitsubishi. Now remember, Mitsubishi is a wholely owned subsidiary of Chrysler Corporation and has been such for over 25 years. So legally, anything built by Mitsubishi is "Chrysler-built". But due to it's design origin, many people refer to this engine as a Mitsubishi engine. Now, the 3.0 L engine is a very good engine, but it uses design techniques that can make certain routine repairs very labor intensive. For example, have you ever taken a look at the water pump on your engine? If you go out, open the hood and look for it, you will not find it. Where is it, you ask? It is inside the timing case and driven directly off the timing belt. Water pump replacement requires removal and replacement of the timing belt on this engine. The 3.0L engine is very durable. We had 207,000 miles on the original engine in our 1989 Grand Caravan when we sold it back in 2000. The only reason we sold the old van was because we bought our 1998 T&C and didn't need it anymore. It ran great when we sold it.
I hope this gives you a little insight into your van. Let us know if you have other questions.

As previous poster said the 3.0 liter is indeed a Mitsu motor that was used for like 12-15 years in chrysler vehicles and the very first V6 they used back in the 80's. Have the same motor , so far has 114000 miles and still runs good , I was also lucky enough to get the 3 speed auto in mine . Your blower problem is a blower resistor that is shot , replace it , not very expensive . located under the hood on the passenger side firewall under the wiper plenum. ABS problem could be anything , bad sensor etc... . That would have to be troubleshot by someon with a scanner . I hate ABS just another thing to go wrong , how did we survive all these years without ABS .
