I finally got a chance to click off one shot on a digital cam.
my car isn't the cleanest at the time of this picture, so forgive me for that. I thought I would post a pic of my grill (chromed with SE-R badge), and you can see a very small part of my caliper.
Hey silverspecv... how did your calipers and debadging turn out?
the pic is too large to post here (100kb+) so i have to attach a linky...

Hey there GB, My car turned out nice and I likes very much. Thanx again by the way. Your grill is very nice and that SE-R badge is definitely a nice touch. In case you didn't notice, I even passed on your method to a new girl in the forum.
I tried to take some picts but just couldn't get the right angle or a descent shot of my grill. I will continue to try when I get a chance to break free, then post my picts to share with everyone.

Hey man,
Glad to hear your car is looking hot! Can't wait to see pics.
I noticed that you passed on the knowledge to the new girl. That is awesome.. that's what this forum is all about. Sharing what you know with other's and learning what you can from others to make everyone happy. It's great to see.
The only thing I don't like about the SE-R badge is that it sort of blends in a little too much with the chrome grill. It would be cool if it had a black or red outside border.
Did you do a Cold Air Intake yet? I want to do it, but I just can't get myself to do it. I don't have a lot of extra cash, so that's part of it, but mostly, I just don't have the motivation, and I am not sure I will be able to do the install myself. I have never done much work on cars (other than stereo stuff), so I am a bit hesitant.
Talk to you later.

GB, I did install a Injen CAI and did all the work myself. I baught it online throughwww.ptuning.com (http://) because the shipping was free with a specific delivery date.
The install took a bit of work due to the necessity of grinding off extra metal for the 3" tubing and following the attatched instructions of removing the bumper (later found out it was unnecessary).
But to motivate you, YOU WILL DEFINITELY LIKE THE INCREASE IN POWER AND THE GROW IT WILL ADD TO YOUR RIDE.
If you are a bit tight on cash now, then why not wait for NISMO.

Hey GB Phoenix, I definitely like the grill and the look of the car. The caliper is also a nice touch. I am the NEW GIRL that SilverSpec V passed on the knowledge too and I'd like to say thanks! I'm planning on doing it to my car but I want some of my guy friends to help me because I still know nothing about cars and even how to take my rim off. Anyways, the car is looking nice! Oh yeah, and your car is looking sweet too SER Wolfpack.

hey new girl :) Thanks for the compliments.... you're a sweetie!
It's great to see that you love your car. If you EVER have any questions about anything... no matter if you think it is a dumb question or not... please feel free to ask. Even if I don't know the answer, I might be able to help you find it. Everybody else on this forum will help out as well... probably a lot more than I can.
I think I am going to put off the CAI until next spring. I have a couple other projects that I am saving my pennies for first. Tinted windows, Viper Alarm system, Kenwood MP3 CD/changer, and maybe springs to lower it about 1.75" or so. I am really curious to see what NISMO comes out with... if anything ever? If they supply a quality part with factory backing (Warranty!), I would be willing to spend some extra dough on it.
Hey pinyoot... how much work goes into cleaning a CAI? Is it just spray down with water, or soap and water in the sink, or what?

not much really,
just jack the car up and take out the wheel
take out the fenderwell and take out the filter
fill a bucket of water
submerge it in water and go up and down
rinse the filter with a spray it with the jet nozzle
and then dry,
then put everything back on
maybe takes like an hour to an hour and a half,
most of the time is drying it

Thanks and I appreciate knowing I can ask my questions and not be criticized. About the springs and you lowering it, I wouldn't lower it more than 1.5" because after that the ride really sucks. You can feel every little bump and it's really rough. I don't know much about it but I would suggest the Eibach springs that lower the car 1.2" because it doesn't change the ride all that much. Talk to you later guys!

lower the ride the harsher the ride isn't neccessarily true....it's a combination of the shock and springs, if u have shocks and a camber kit to support the lowered springs, then it would be alrigt

Oh really, I didn't know that. Does my car have shocks? I couldn't lower my car anyways because it voids the warranty on the suspension :sun:

yea, every import car has shocks......but the performance shocks makes the ride better and it won't bottom out using lowering springs....they have tein performance shocks out right now
but it's different for the spec v, the spec v shocks are already stiff enough and doesn't need to be changed, i heard it's better for the spec v since progress springs aren't as stiff as the stock, (not sure if this is true)

Wow thanks, that's interesting. I didn't know that. I don't have a spec-v but I don't think I'm dropping the car anytime soon.
