my truck says to gap the spark plugs at .035 but i was told by a parts guy that you can gap the plugs at .40 to increase the spark , i didn't know if .05 would hurt the plug . i also run a hotter plug in my truck also . it calls for a r43ts ac delco and i run r45ts ac delco it seems to help the gas mileage . but i was going to try the bigger gap but thought i would check with you guy's first to make sure there it would not hurt anything . thanks silver100 :grinyes:

Well is that parts guy a certified tech or one of the auto zone counter mechanics? :grinyes:
You are all ready 2 numbers to hot why are you trying to go hotter?
If you get it to wide and to hot you will burn a hole in the piston.
Stick with the gap and the plug it calls for.

Don't listen to the parts clown. The gap grows wider as the plug wears.
