I have a 2003 Lancer and wanted to know if the serial# on the top of the transmission should match the VIN #. Thanks, Rob

I found out that at least for the 2003 year transmissions, the VIN is on the trans.You can see it with the hood up, and its on the top of the trans right next to the parting line of the engine and trans.
