hmm... I am at 160 miles and I am at about the same spot as you are on the gas gauge. Does that trip include spirited driving or what?

I am not going to lie..I did goose it once for a good accel... but besides that it was all very conservative without using the air conditioner

I get about the same as that but I dont have an egr, evap system, or any other emmisions. Do you have any problems with running rich or studdering or anything along those lines?
GSXracerGuy

Apparently I do run quite rich, and my car studders like a bitch at idle. It bumps along hardly at like 100 rpms or less....my air intake is messed up cause it is cheap and I can't afford a new one:frown:

I will say this once more, CHANGE YOUR MOTHER FUCKING PLUGS LIKE EVERYONE HAS TOLD YOU BEFORE.
BTW, your car would not run at 100 rpm. It would die.

The iridiums will do better in your car than platinums, but you shoulda just went with the plain ass copper NGK BPR7ES because that's what works best in turbo DSM's. I thought we had covered this, but apparently you will just do what you want. Theres a reason why you get shitty gas mileage. And sorry to get pissed off, but damn dude how many times do you need to hear it. I hate saying things to someone more than once, but I also hate a DSM not running properly.
Make sure you gap them, they are not pre-gapped for your car. And be careful, those iridium tips are hard as hell to adjust and tend to break easily if you put a lot of pressure on them. They are also not meant to be gapped more than once.

Ah, I finally checked my gas milage today and I got a nifty 21.5mpg. Not bad for city/spirited driving.

You guys are checking mpg like this right?:
Just zero the odometer at the pump, fill it up, and when you fill up again (more miles traveled between these fill-ups will increase the accuracy) write down how many gallons the pump put in (it will say on the pump). Divide miles on the odometer by the gallons on the pump.

Ya I asked my mom how to do that last night lol..even tho I guess there is only one way you could get a number that makes sense. You may be off a few decimals because the pump might not shut off at the exact same time each time...if you know what I mean.
JUST SO YALL KNOW I did put in the NGK BPR7ES plugs yesterday. Easy job.

Ummm...well... the package said not to do it?? SO I didn't.. But the real reason why I didn't is because I don't know how..and even if I did know how..I wouldn't know what to gap them at..or even know how to tell how much gap there is.
I figured since that's what is supposed to be in the car..it won't to damage NOT to gap them.

The plugs NEVER come gapped correctly from the factory. Do not listen to the box. Go to your local car store(advanced auto, napa, etc.) Buy a .99 cent spark plug gapper. Take your plugs and gap them between 0.028 and 0.030.

Both sets of plugs I've bought (a set for a '95 Civic and a set for my car--both NGK's) came gapped correctly. But I have heard they can be incorrectly gapped.
The round disk gapper (asuming you mean that one being 99 cents), is not as accurate as the feeler gauge type. But maybe the disc is better in some other way.:dunno:
