About two months ago my autoshop got a cease and desist letter from the Ford Motor Company, it had about 25 different statues in it. Some of them were out right laughable $2,000 for every car serviced under our name.
You walk into our shop and you will see a picture of:
Henry Ford shaking hands with my father
William Clay Ford Jr. in at lake
Edsel Ford II shaking hands with my father and myself.
Carroll Shelby shaking hands with my brother
Henry Ford II shaking hands with my brotherIt won't hold up in Texas and if it does my brother owns a camaro shop now...

If you think about it Ford would rather selll their performance parts instead of letting competition do it. I would look to deep into it, its just buisness.

If you think about it Dallas Mustang sells more Ford Racing parts than Ford..... The C&D order if it holds up would destroy them.

I'm calling :bs:
Why hasn't there been anything in Motortrend, Car & Driver, or any other magazine? This is big news and all we get is one little petition site? Why not on this site do they have news links, scans of the letters Ford sent out to the autoshops, personal accounts, or any other things?
I mean I'm not saying it's not possible but come on. I could create a site like that tonight about Chevy and the Corvette and I'm sure it'd stir up some trouble in many automotive sites.

Another attempt by big business to make sure they are the only source for their parts, also know as captive market. Motorola does it with their radios systems. I can just see Ford now wanting the free ranging horses be renamed too. Ford and Chevy have been for the last 10-15 years buying up all the major junkyards and engine rebuilders to insure that if you want a Ford parts product new or used, they get the money, not the person actually doing the work. Kinda looks like restraint of trade to me, but big bucks always win at least for now.
This is another example of why I don't buy anything directly from Ford. Their intake manifold fiasco, is the main reason why I won't buy anything from them. They draged out the legal process for nearly 10 years, to insure everybody has already replaced a factory deffective manifold ( bad design), blamming their supplier. Well if you use it, you are responsible for defect. This doesn't even account for all the ruined engines resulting from the bad manifold. My opinion is to buy a non Ford replacement, not to give them the money they are not entitled too anyway.
