If i go to a brake/muffler shop can i get a magnaflow catback exhaust from them and they will install it? Or do i need to buy one and then bring it to them? How much is intallation and how do i find a place around me that will install it? Thanks!

Most typical muffler shops carry exhausts kits you can buy from them. If you want to go with a big name shop, Midas is always an option. Or if you want to you can try a phone book and look up local muffler shops, you would probably get a better deal from a privately owned local shop. You can always go to google and type in "(your city, state) + muffler shop" and it will give you a list of links, click the first that says "Local results for muffler shop near (your city, state)" link and it will give you a map with a list of shops on the left and it'll show you where each shop is located at on the map.

do you think i should go with a big name shop or a privately owned one around here?

Mega Muffler & Brakes (http://www.magnaflow.com/03dealer_result2_x.aspx?id=0) Is the closest one to me which is around 6 miles..the closest big name shop is meineke which is quite a while(30 miles)

For something like this should i go with a small place or a big place? Can i still count on reliability and a professional installation at this local place? Around how much am i looking for to buy the magnaflows and the installation?

BTW BEAUTIFUL CAR! Love the rims :D

Sounds like a fine place to me. You can always ask them if they have any pictures of examples of work they've done. The place I went to is called Rainbow Muffler, doesn't sound appealing at all, but once they showed me their photo album of their work I was more than happy to let them work on my car. Not sure on the price of how much it would cost, you could try calling them and getting a quote. That's what I had to do. Just be sure to tell them that you want the entire cat-back done, not just a new muffler put on. Otherwise if you just went with a new muffler, you would see very little gains to where it would have almost been pointless and a waste of money.

Thanks for the compliment, yeah I try to keep her clean lol. Your bird isn't lookin too shabby either. Can't wait to get my windows tinted, what percentage are yours tinted at? Or did you buy the car like that? That's about how dark I wan't to go with mine.

BTW, are those vette rims? Those are the rims i want to get down the road..Do you think my red car would look better with chrome rims of black rims?

You would be surprised at how easy a catback install is.
Just need basic tools and jackstands.

I would never recommend for anyone to go to Midas. Most of the guys don't know how to do a thorough job of welding. They more or less spot weld, which obviously causes leaks. I had to have a muffler shop repair the work that a Midas shop did. They also screwed up a brake job on one of my cars.

Author usually you're looking at around $100-140 for a catback install. Make sure that they weld the catback on completely. You don't want to have any leaks.

That's a good exhaust system to start with.

How much would it cost to buy it from the shop plus installation..just a guesstimate

(IMO)its actually cheaper to buy the exhaust from the shop then have them install it because if you bring it to them they usually charge more for installation...and a guestimate from me i would say around 350-400 but thats just off the hand i think you wanted a full exhaust right?

Yeah, C5's. 17's front (245's), 18's back (275's). I personally don't like black rims. Every now and and then, It look's ok on some cars to me. But I've never liked any black set of rims I've seen on an F-body. But that's just me. My rims are polished, and to me, that would look really good on your car. I'm not a fan of chrome too much, it's just too flashy for me. That's why I settled for polished. I'm really nit picky when it comes to rims.. obviously.
