My wife wants to get a performance muffler on her 03 Yukon, but she doesn't want any tone.:nono: She doesn't want to be loud and proud like me:disappoin. Any suggestions on a quiet-flow muffler?:banghead:

Get the Corsa touring exhaust system. You'll get performance and just a little bit of roar. I have a Corsa touring and it sounds just a little louder than stock at idle and when you get on it it gives you a slight roar if the windows are open. At cruising and when the windows are closed you can't really tell you have a aftermarket exhaust. It'll give you a good comprimise.

My uncle has a 7-baffle "blow"master. I mean flowmaster. its really guiet and gives the "blow"master note. And you can always tell people you have a flowmaster even on your wife's car. lol.

Is the Corsa or Flowmaster a complete system or just the muffler? Which is best Corsa or Flowmaster?

You can get a cat-back in the Flowmaster. Im not sure about the Corsa. You wont notice any difference between the 2 systems. The power difference you MIGHT get would only be about 3 or 4 hp. go with whichever one is cheaper and easier to do. I just bought a Hooker cat-back for mine off ebay for $130. Its a good system. Fits nice and you really cant beat the price. It was brand new and still in the box.

I think if you do your research the Corsa is a far better product. Its the whole system not just the muffler. Its made from aircraft grade stainless steel and comes with a nice dual outlet exhaust tip. It cost more than the flowmaster but there is no comparison. No inside resonance at all. You can find the Corsa on e-bay from time to time for about $650. Many muffler shops charge about $800 for the system plus installation.
If you don't want to spend the money on the Corsa touring and go with the flowmaster, be sure and get the Flowmaster Big Block. It is made for people who drive SUV's and want a quiter muffler. You will still have some resonance with this muffler but you can't have everything on a $300 budget. One thing to watch out for if you go the flowmaster route. Don't get the Flowmaster SUV muffler. It says its for SUV's, but it is very very loud and has lots of resonance in the cab. My friend had one on their Navigator and you could hear him coming from a block away with the loud pipes.
Good luck and you won't be sorry if you go with the Corsa system. I've had it on my Denali for 3 years now and I love it.

Ok let me re-iterate. The Flowmaster is the cheaper of the 2. by why in the world would you pay $800 for a cat-back exhaust system? I do agree with Denalix5 that the Flowmaster does create a good amount of resonance inside and the SUV muffler is VERY loud. The 7 baffle is a nice, quite muffler as well. Personally I prefer the Magnaflow sound over the flowmaster however I havent really seem many magnaflow mufflers that are all that quiet.
When upgrading to a cat-back exhaust on a GM truck the only really difference you'll see in the "systems" are the muffler and the material the pipe is made of. Unless you are building a show car or if its for a car that only drives a few miles at a time and doesnt have a chance to get the condensation out of the system then there isnt much benefit going with the stainless steel. Yeah the stainless will last longer but it will still take Aluminized steel a good 10 years to rot out if kept in the proper location (not hugly high humidity {should be low enough in Kentucky}) and ran long enough to get the majority of the condensation out. The biggest reason you wont notice much difference when putting on a cat-back on a GM is that GM comes stock with 3" from the Y-pipe back already.
So basically if you want to throw away $200 to $400 on a stainless steel exotic cat-back exhaust then go with the Corsica but if you would rather use that money for something else I would suggest a flowmaster 7 baffle Aluminized cat-back system for about $300.

Intrcptrbird if you look at the original post he asks for a quiet exhaust that will give him performance. Will the flowmaster actually be a quiet exhaust? Not! Will the Flowmaster give him resonance in the cab like the Magnaflow? Yes. Thats why I suggested the Corsa. If you do some research the Corsa touring is the quietest performance exhaust you can purchase. It will give you performance and some nice exhaust growel on the outside but very quiet and same as stock sound at cruising. The guy has a wife and probably some kids, thats why he wants something that will give him some performance and some growel without having to have the resonance.
And you are right about one thing you get what you pay for. Stainless steel pipes, performance and quality cost money. If you go to any GM dealership that sells SUVs they will recommend the Corsa because it is specifically designed for the GM vehicles. If you have the 5.3 liter engine you can get off cheap by going with the Flowmaster Big Block. It won't be as quiet as the Corsa and it will give you some resonance but it is cheaper. If you check many of the SUV boards you'll come to the same conclusion. Many people have put on different exhausts but most end up changing them out to Corsa when they get tired of the resonance.
When I was in the market to get an aftermarket exhaust I was originally going to go with the flowmaster Big Block but after talking with many people from the SUV boards and then actually hearing it on a Yukon. I decided to spend the extra money and buy the Corsa.
