Ok im sort of confused, cuz my friend has a 305 and he said it was bored over 30?..and i just thought that would mean its a 335..but i was told differently today, im quite confused how does these measurements work?

30 over refers to the measurement .030, say the standard bore is 4.000" and then was bored over 30, it would be enlarged to 4.030". The displacment increase also factors in the stroke.

Toyotas V6s are very Boring.
As any of the VW enignes Iv driven (all 4cyl golfs).

the displacement is a factor of both the bore and the stroke. to find the displacement you need to get the diameter (bore) multiply it by pi, then by stoke.

So if a 305 was bored 30 over what would the cubic inches be?

309.9 ci. It would be rounded up to 310.

Accually its not the diameter, its the radius squared times pi.
Accually its not the diameter, its the radius squared times pi.

sorry, my brain's a bit fried right now, i just finished exams. it's different when i'm writing it and typing it. you're correct that it's radius squared times pi then multiplied by the stroke. before checking the reply i was just thinking that lol.
