Hey guys, im kinda confused as to what has happened with my car
i recently had four new tires put on my car, the exact same as the ones before it and now whenever i am driving along it squeals, i thought it might be the breaks but the only time it doesn't squel is when i am breaking:banghead: .
hope someone can help me out with this

Strange. If the tires were a different size or brand I would say they have a changed diameter or width and its effecting the toe in/toe out, because when you change the width of the "track" (as in wide track Pontiac) the tires operate in a different turning radius than before.

Maybe with so much tread on them (deep),they arent as good handlers as they were with "cut" (worn) treads.

they'll be 'broken in' after about 200 miles..... or less if you stop and start hard

but the only time it doesn't squel is when i am breaking
ive had this same problem, a constant squeaking pretty much, it stopped instantly when i went to use the brakes, and started back up after i let off the brakes, i replaced the front brake pads, even though the old ones looked practically new, they had at least 75% of their life left, but i replaced them anyways, and it hasnt squeaked since
try it out, its only $20, and if that doesnt fix it, then i guess you have new brakes, you lose nothing...

Odd, try the brakes but it shudnt be. Just drive the tires for awhile and maybe it will settle down, when i did a rotation, my back ones were like brand new looking, and the fronts were pretty worn. When i swapped em up to the front it was louder cuz the more tread the louder it was, but its not a squeeling its more of a hum like the air whipping thru it.
Ah, maybe the lugs are undertorqued or overtorqued! Try that out, it could be pressed tight against the hub or loose and not running straight.

That's a good indication of an alignment problem. You can ignore it and keep wearing out tires prematurely (and wasting fuel) or repair it now. The old tires were likely feathered to match the misalignment and the new tires are trying to roll straight along, and are audibly complaining about being pushed down the road at an unnatural angle.

As Blue Bowtie says
Get a good front and rear wheel alignment Like a good 4 wheel alignment job.
The people that sold you and installed the tires should have told you that.
Unless the want to keep on selling you tires ever 5-10k miles.:grinyes:
