check engine light

My check engine light just came on and I think its because the fuel cap was not tightened. Does anyone know if there is a certain way to clear this trouble light. I havent been able to find anything about this. Any help would be appreciated

Disconnect the battery. Or go to Autozone and have them tell you what it is first.
