fuel pump wiring

ok on my fuel pump theres the little harness thing that comes from the fuel pump and clips inbetween the back seats. it consists of 3 wires, a purple one, a grey one and a black one. what do theese 3 wires do?like power ground and fuel level guage???

You got it, one is power to the pump, one is ground and the other goes to the level sender.

Black is ground, purple is probably power for the pump and the other one is for the sender

Purple is power to the pump, green is the level, and black is ground. Just got through replacing the one in my car...
