help weather stripping

Its starting to look real bad and i want to remove the stripping. Its the piece that runs hortizontal of the outside door. i think i have to remove the mirror and the door panel that runs vertical. I lost my chilton book and even when i read it, it did not help. Im not replacing the whole thing just enough that i could cover the old crumberling material. Planning on going to home depot for the stick on stripping. any help thanks
