I think I’m going to cry, or throw up, or both! Just heard on the radio that the SPCA picked up a pit bull puppy who had his ears cut (with a razor blade) so that they would look more pointy and aggressive!

How can people do something like that???? :mad: :mad: Maybe we should cut something of theirs off with a razor blade and make it look more pointy and aggressive! :mad: :mad:

It it wasn't done via a vet then you're right. However, its not uncommon for some dogs to get their ears and/or tails cropped.

Isn't the penalty for animal abuse in America really harsh? Not sayin they don't deserve it, but I thought it was.

I think cropped and cut with a razor blade is a little different. that is sick what they did.

Unfortunately,a lot of pit bull owners are precisely the people who should not be allowed to raise dogs.Or children for that matter.I agree with the idea of using the razorblade for the general good of society.:devil:

even properly clipping the dogs ears is againts the law here.

I saw it on the news, nasty piece of work and the poor dog was probably unsedated:(

Moon saw it too (thankfully I didn’t) and he just about threw up. He said it was so horrible. Poor puppy! :(

I hope he goes to a really good home and get spoilts rotten.

its one thing to have the dewclaws removed, tail docked, and ears done at the appropriate age, by someone who knows what they are doing, I have been in the room when the vet has done poodle puppies tails and dewclaws, I've seen no ill effects come from it.

but its another thing when some asshole does it the very wrong way!!! I waw watching Animal Planet one day, the show was about rescuing dogs, and someone was attempting to dock a tail on a full grown adult dog, but wrapping a rubberband around it, waiting for it to fall off. I believe that is still an acceptable manner of docking tails on very young puppies(under a vets supervision, that is), but not full grown adults.

Yuck! That was pretty sad. I hope that bonehead doesn't have kids - who knows what they'd do to them.

Its just beyond me how people can get so infuriated about animals? :rolleyes: - Sure that wasnt a nice thing to do - but why dont people get in an uproar about the millions of kids aborted everday , or the thousands of innocent children that are abused - physically and sexually - and these are children with souls and minds of their own - not animals. - now that infuriates me!

I just knew there would be someone who wouldn't think there is something too wrong with what happened to this puppy. I just hope you don't have pets because I'd hate to see how you treated them. :mad:

Oh, yeah, and just so you know, animals have "souls and minds of their own" as well. Abuse in any form can't be tolerated, there are no distinctions!

actually i have a dog and a cat
and treat them very well

im sure the same people that whine about this dog

So, are you implying that animals are incapable of showing emotions? Or am I completely misunderstanding the statement?

I can watch people get shot, or butchered etc and not feel a thing (if they are close to me this is differnet) But to see an animal hurt, even in a movie where I know its not, still really drags a deep pain from me. I have gone out of my way to stop animal crulity to where I had no hope in hell of wining the fight, but the animal would be ok so it was worth it. I think there are too many abusive parents, who create children who like to do such things...Theres a dog owner in my area who has this lil dog hes so mean to and raised to attack...well, he lets it loose all the time, and I have to fight it away from my house, and children of the neightborhood, because it will chase them trying to attack, I made it clear to him if I have to hurt the dog, i'll do worse. He hasnt let the dog out, and from what i've seen, hasnt abused it much *I had a foot on him, I was covered in greese from working on the trans am, and had an engine mount in my hand, so I was rather intimitating*

If I cought someone doing that to an animal though....I dont know what I would do... :(

Could start a thread in Philosophizing about this, but I think animals have emotions becuase I've seen my dog show it and I swear she can smile sometimes, btu having souls is a different story.
