Anybody have a wiring diagram for a 1989 LeSabre AM/FM Cassette? I've salvaged one and want to use it in another vehicle.

Just curious, but why do you want to bother installing a non-CD stereo? Granted it is a nice head unit, but a cheap CD player would increase the value of a car more than a good casette AM/FM...

Alibi,
I'm putting the radio in a "boat on a budget". Free is better than cheap. I probably wouldn't use the casette player or even a CD player if I had one. I will likely just play FM radio stations while on the water.
I found a wiring diagram on an aftermarket radio web site that was referred by another AF member. Although I still don't know what the two green wires with a purple wire are for it works for my purpose. If I get energetic I'll even install the front speakers, but for now it's just two speakers and radio.

Ahhh....That makes sense. Well, good luck with those last couple of wires...I usually have to have help when installing any electronics with more than a couple of wires because I'm too colorblind to match much of anything up on my own...

Deerefeed, what year/ make/ model car did your new radio come out of? If it were out of any GM c-body car (such as your LeSabre) the harness should be the same and it would simply be plug and play. I'll check my 91's electrical manual (same body as your '89) I'll see if it includes radio wire diagrams and then I'll post back.

Ok, here's the diagram from a 91', compare these color codes to yours, I'm pretty sure they should be the same:
Yellow-Fuse #4, "ACCY"/ "RUN" power wire
Dark Green-Fuse #25, Hot with headlight switch on (Display Illumination wire)
Orange-Fuse #11- Hot at all times- Battery power
Gray- Interior lights dimming wire
Dark Green wire (2)- Heater and A/C control assembly
Pink- Power antenna
Purple/White-Dimmer wire that goes to A/C display
Tan wire and white wire-LH Front
Light Green wire and Black wire-RH Front
Light Blue wire and Yellow wire- LH Rear
Dark Blue wire and Brown wire- RH Rear
Black- Ground

FYI: the LeSabre is an H-body (like olds 88, 98, and pontiac bonnevilles). C-bodies are Electras and Park Avenues....maybe others?

Very little difference between them though.
