Turn Signals

Hi all, i have a problem, actually my car does. i have a 1998 Eagle Talon, with 70,000 miles on it. Ive owned the car for 2 years without a proble. This last tuesday my turn signals stopped working :banghead: . My 4 way flashers still work, but my turn signals dont light up or do anything. The bulbs are good, thats the first thing i checked. Also checked the fuses, they are all good. I was told the car uses 1 flasher for the 4 ways and turn signals, would the 4 ways work and not the turn signals if the flasher was bad? Also noticed that 1 of my tail lights goes out when the brake lights come on, and that started at about the same time the turn signal problems started. Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

The only thing I know about this is that if the flasher button is not plugged in, you will not get any blinkers (but your flashers won't work either), so that's probably not your exact problem, but it could lie somewhere along that line. Start checking wires and make sure everything is connected and there isn't anything dangling or grounding out.

As for the brakes, does the whole taillight assembly go out when you hit the brakes, or just one bulb? If it's just one bulb I think that you have a bad bulb that just needs replacing.

Just wanted to post a quick update, after buying a new flasher and checking the bulbs again, i decided to pull the switch out, the detent that operates the switch inside was broken, ordered a new switch, in the mean time super glue will hold it. The break light issue has to be a short , i got the wiring diagram this weekend so next weekend i am going to tear into that and fix it. The important thing is turn signals, hand signals will get you a ticket at night.
