Hi all!
I was wondering if anyone here had an opinion (preferably a constructive one) about replacing the rear axle of my '99 XL (code 46) with one out of a '97 XLT (code D4). The only diffrence I can tell with the information I have found so far is that the D4 has a 3200 (lb. I assume) capacity and has limited slip. The code 46 is open and the chart I've found doesn't give a capacity rate for it. I have the D4, but I would really prefer not changing out both axles, if that's possible. Would I run into any issues with ABS and the automatic 4WD?
Thanks! This forum with its participants is a great resource. BTW: If interested, I'm referring to the chart from www.explorerforum.com/ntrprize/Axle.htm (http://www.explorerforum.com/ntrprize/Axle.htm)

FYI: Axle replacement went well, just a few smacked knuckles. Vehicle drives nice and I can't wait for snow!!!!
