I have a 1995 sunfire 2.2l automatic with the OBD2 code plug.Manual says it is the OBD 1.
Which one do I have? Can I get the code out of a OBD1 if that is what I have? I Have a OBD2 code reader but it reads error message.
Thanks
Darren

I just did a little searching and it seems like you would have the OBD1 as it looks like the OBD2 started in 1996. As for the compatibability between the two, I am not sure.
Hope this helps a bit

OBD 1.5
ready for this...you have ODBII with OBDI codes and sensors. it's a hybrid year. the only engine to be OBDII that year was the 2.3L Automatic. It came with a cam sensor on the intake tower. Just about the ONLY place to get codes read is the dealer for like $45 a session or so. Been through that a few times. No not any of the auto stores can help. their readers arent able to figure out the codes (OBDI) with their scanners (OBDII)

if it's a pricey scanner, it can be adapted to work. but by pricey I mean around $1k or so for the scanner, and more for the modules. I was going to buy a scan tool myself, but I discovered it was no good. I could read every other car but mine. It will always show up as a read fault, and ask that you check the fuse and something else LOL
