Well, with the Japanese thread going great (thanks to everyone for their contributions), i figgured i'd make it a little harder and try to get a decent sized list of F1's in Europe. I want to exclude England because quite a few F1's are there and most (not all though) are known but nobody has really tried to do a list of F1's in the rest of Europe. So here goes...

001 - Switzerland?

Look at the pics below and compare them to the pics of 001 in Driving Ambition. I've not seen another F1 with that black license plate thing on it that is that size (068 had one but it was bigger). I've heard that this car is in Switzerland

Cool - this should be great.

Interesting speculation on that being #001. Makes sense with the mirrors in the first two shots, but if you look a little closer the car in the third photo has the standard production mirrors.

#047 and #18R are definitely kept by BMW. They also have a longtail FINA car with an unconfirmed chassis number. Could be #26R as you suggest, but that kind of depends on what chassis is in Connecticut at Highcroft.

Bscher also owns #22R - not sure where the two GTRs are kept.

#13R is in Europe somewhere now - it would not surprise me if Ralf Schumacher purchased it.

Does anyone have any info on this car?

http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/7753/mclarenf1grised6oc6ik.th.jpg (http://img471.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mclarenf1grised6oc6ik.jpg)

That is the car that Bernd Pischetsrieder destroyed. Compare it with the aftermath photo and you will see that the plates are a match. I'm still unsure of the chassis number though.

#064 is in Sweden - there are one or two people here who know the owner's name and location. I'm drawing a blank on it at the moment.

That's it for now...

Great initiative! I'm sure this will proof to be a good knowledge repository and a thread that will last for a while, like its Japanese counterpart.

Detail-whining: 11R is indeed for sale at KS Autohandel, however this garage is located in Germany.

Not too sure if I will be able to add info regarding this fleet, but we'll see. I'll do my best ;-)

The article on #047 that some of those photos come from was reprinted in a Russian magazine and on a Russian website, but it most definitely the BMW Mobile Tradition museum car kept in Germany.

Oh - I must have another one then. I didn't have the aftermath photo handy, but now that I went to look I see that you can't compare those two and get a match. I'll clear it up later with the proper images, but the info is correct.

Even the same parking space. :grinyes:

Spotted somewhere in Monaco during one of the Grand Prix's as I recall.

Edit: Here's the image that shows the full plate - title of the photo confirms 1995 Monaco GP. Car appears identical to the one that was trashed and the last few digits of the plates are a match. Someone from Supercarfrance.com brought this to my attention, but I don't recall whom to give them credit.

quite hard ! I want to point out different things :

1) And the one in Belgium we spoke about one year ago ?

2) For the red one in Monaco, it's crazy ! Nobody sees it ! Some sources say very different things... two said "4 in Monaco" and another one on Supercarfrance (who works at Casino) said "at Monaco no 911 GT1, no CLK-GTR and no McLaren" He means with Monaco plate.

3) always nothing about Hakkinen F1's ?? It's false ?

Here's a couple of old German articles which confirm Thomas Bschers F1chassis no. and suggest the chassis no. of Bernd P's crashed car was around number 30. (The actual test says one of scarcely 30 built)
I hope I'm not posting old news.

I just want to put a rumor to rest here. Chris Dawes NEVER owned 071. I have no idea where that rumor started and can't find anything to prove that he did. If anyone has any proof that he did, then show me. But i'm telling you, you won't find any because he didn't own it.

If anyone has any proof that he did, then show me. But i'm telling you, you won't find any because he didn't own it.Wait a sec, first of all you are saying you can't or didn't find anything to support this. Then you are saying that no one else ever will either. You cannot leap to that conclusion simply because you haven't found the proof so far.

Not saying you are wrong about his ownership, but your logic certainly is.

If you know the entire chain of custody, that is a different matter. But you haven't indicated that you do. Do you? If so, just say that he didn't ever own the car. You seem to imply that you don't KNOW this, though.

I believe the rumours might have come from Maarten, who has not posted on here in a while.

My information seems to indicate that he did own the car that he crashed. And he only had one. Clearly, therefore, it was not 071.

Peloton25

That point has been made several times now actually.

The info of Dawes association with #071 started with someone on SC.net in like 2003 who claimed that the orange F1 in Driving Ambition was his and that it was him pictured with the car once it was completed. I don't recall who said it anymore, but obviously they were not correct. End of story.

I'm not so sure. Especially since as I mentioned before the car in the third photo wears the standard F1 mirror sourced from the VW Corrado. To me that suggests a later build number.

001 - Switzerland?

Look at the pics below and compare them to the pics of 001 in Driving Ambition. I've not seen another F1 with that black license plate thing on it that is that size (068 had one but it was bigger). I've heard that this car is in Switzerland

Also, you have see another F1 wearing that same exact black license plate holder. Allow me to refresh your memory with this image from "Driving Ambition":

You'll recall that the caption for this photo in DA identifies the silver F1 as #002, with the orange one being #075. I have a feeling the car on display at the airport was more than likely #002, and the third photo is just another unknown silver F1 unfortunately.

You're not an idiot - we all make mistakes.

Remember that when #002 was built it was Dorchester Grey with a red stripe on the ventline of the door, much like Leno's car looks today. Seems strange to me someone would take a unique F1 and repaint it silver. Oh well - their car, their money.

The caption in my copies of "Driving Ambition" read very clearly next to that photo:

"Almost the first and definitely the last: early production car '002' dating from 1993 lined up with the last production customer car '075', summer 1998."

The only production car built in 1993 was chassis #002. Chassis #001 was the third F1 completed and that happened in 1994.

WHOA! Mine says 001! And it says its a 1994 car, not a 1993 car. Scanning now.... :)

Edit: Here it is. I wonder if there are many differences in the books. I think mine would be correct, would it not? I can't see Mclaren having the 2nd road car and then the last next to each other. 001 would make a lot more sense. My other copy of DA is in England so i can't check to see what that one says.

Each time i went there, it was not present :banghead:
I think I will wait unstill sunday (25) to decide if i go or not, to let other poeple to have a chance to see it

Otherwise I prefer to go to SpaItalia now (this weekend) which is more "open", instead of Ferrrari Days which is more "locked" ;)

Hello,

the timing is quite difficult this WE with Le Mans and Spa Italia ! I hope to see the F1 GTR tomorrow :)

From Chris' post in the UK fleet and several others - I think this is more than likely #15R:

Which GTR was seen in Monaco?

My post? What about it? Those are UK plates, are you saying Le Man is wrong?

No - I'm saying that LOJ's GTR wears UK plates even if it does live in France.

Hello,

15R...Location...Paris, France...Owner Lindsay Owen-Jones,...Trust me.

Awesome !!!!!! In the same time, it is in contradiction with David Clark when I spoke to him...
So, can you say more ? I want to believe and know more about McLaren in France :)

Hi Phil,

The information passed on to me is correct, not unless anybody knows different. All I can add is that Lindsay Owen-Jones kept 15R after finishing 5th at LeMans in 96 and it is at his house in Paris.

011R that is listed at KS was in Swedish traffic until 050801, owned by mr Bryant-Meisner, after that im not sure if its sold but translated my info is "not in traffic" and not "no longer in record". All according to Swedish Goverment.
The Fina-car that you have listed the location as "Sweden" is also a Bryant-Mesiner owned car but I think you already knew that.
