Hi Guys

I have a 97 Altima 2.4 MT. The manual say it takes 4.1 Qts (us) of engine oil. I did oil change and also changed the filter. Added 4.1 Qts of oil, start it up checked for leaks then turned it off checked the oil level on the dip stick which is high above the top mark, i have to drop like half a Qt to take it down on the high mark. My oil pan is fine no dents its clean. And my car is sitting on a straight floor.

So i still need to put 4.1 Qt. Or just go with the dipstick mark.

Any help is Apreciated

I have a 94, same story. I had to remove 1/2 quart. A response to my post on this board claimed 3.6 quarts are required at a change contrary to Haynes and Nissan manuals. 800 miles later, the level is still correct.
