1995 Rodeo. The Haynes manual is checked out from the library, so I am kinda in the dark...so sorry for the n00bish questions! I have had it for a year or two and had to do very little work on it, but I have some problems now. It is an AT V6, but I am not sure if it is the 3.1 or 3.2. How can I find out the difference?
While I am working on the alternator (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=574773), I also figured I would try and find out where my pesky oil leak is coming from. As is, I am putting in a quart or more every fillup, which is about once a week. It is not burning oil, either. What is the best method for doing this and are there any problem spots typical to this vehicle I should check first? Since it is not driving and has been in the same space all week, I know to check for puddles/drips, but Im sure that can be misleading if it is leaking high up in the engine.
I put a new battery in when I bought it but have not had to buy one since then. Just wondering what I should expect to spend.
Also, my truck does not have intermittent wipers and it drives me insane having to push the "mist" button every 10 seconds. Is that setting controlled by the switch or by the motor?
Any help you could give me would be much appreciated!

It would be a 3.2 only the early ones has a 3.1 I beleive. '91 and '92 I think.

Most common spot is the valve cover gaskets. I have to track down a leak on mine too, pretty sure its the left valve cover gasket. Not looking forward to that project.

Not sure if you're asking about buing another battery. I've always bought walmart batteries. They work well and are cheap, around $35-40.

On my '99 its controlled by a box behind and to the right of the glove box lableled "alarm". Not sure about 1gens but on 2nd gen rodeos its common for the relays to give out. Isuzu wants around $200 for a new box. You can replace the relays for about $5. Search here and planetisuzoo.com for wipers for info. I have a write up on mine in the hall of fame section of the forum.

Replaced the alternator today, relatively painless. Only problem is a kinda whirring/whistling noise. It gets higher in pitch as I accelerate. Belt too loose or tight?

I'd adjust the belt only so tight that it doesn't slip. I'd expect to hear some whirring, too, though, especially if you used a new belt.
