good drag car

hey im looking to buy a new car to turn into a drag car. however i dont want to spend over 10 grand on the car. i was wondering what is a good car to buy that has a stock engine thats best to upgrade for racing without spending to much. and i dnt want like a civic or nething i want something with some stock power to it
