P0440 is "EVAP emission control system malfunction". I would suspect the slow fill has something to do with it. Check the filler tube and vent hose for kinks or obstructions first. If they're ok, to correctly diagnose it, you'll need to follow a diagnostic flow chart.
old master, were you the one that posted the gm service bulliten about csfi injector cleaning and conversion to mfi? i can't find the original post and there are some members that seem like they need it.
thanks

Hmm, sorry not me. I can't figure out why anyone would want to change from sequential to multiport. It's like a quantum leap...backwards.

The MFI conversion that he's talking about is like the CSFI. It's still sequential, and is a direct replacement. The only difference is that the troublesome poppet valves are replaced with 6 mini injectors.

Now that I think about it, I do remember reading that. It don't think it makes the system sequential, that would require PCM programming and bla bla bla, it just eliminates the poppets. Maybe a forum search for "poppets", I know it would bring up a boatload, but it would be there!

We're messing up this thread. I'm going to split the off topic posts to a new thread titled "Questions"

If you post your RPO codes. I'll look up the colors. They might have made a mistake.

thanks again, be back soon.
OK, here is the code from the glove box sticker. this is the first gm truck i've owned that didn't have them on the door jam.
BC/CC U 379E 92H
original factory gmc built in janesville, wi. window sticker says "paint code-magnetic red metalec clear coat" i've seen alot of jimmy's this color, but the chevy equivelant is just a hint red'er.
thanks for your help. the closest i have come is "color match touch up paint" but it says some kind of purple metalic pearl.
i know the "bc/cc" is base coat/clearcoat, but the rest is still a mystery.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I read your post the first time, but didn't realize that you had came back and edited it.
On the sticker you'll see a two digit number followed by a U. I need that number. If it's two tone, I'll need the two digit number followed by a T or L, too.

If it's two tone, I'll need the two digit number followed by a T or L, too. not to be too stupid, but where else is the number, cause there are like 4-6 rows of 8-10 rpo's and the number i sent was the full at the bottom line other than the rpo's.
p.s. i have to sign off, a raging thunderstorm just started, gotta love florida!!

It's in the list of RPOs. The two digit number is a color code, and the following letter tells the part of the blazer. EX. U is the primary exterior color. I is the interior color. T is the trim color. etc.
It just started raining here too.

i went to gm's web page and for my 2001 gmc jimmy(s15) the code is 379E, they say it is the number after the U. If this is wrong, let me know.
thanks for all your help.

It's in both locations. The list I have is for the codes inside the RPO list.

The position of the codes depends on how many RPO codes there are. They don't have specific positions, so they won't always be in the 2nd or 3rd columns.
Are you sure that it wasn't 86U? 82U shows up as LT SAPPHIRE TITANIUM.
I found 86/WA379E. It's listed as Red Pearl and Red Tint Metallic

yeh, i'm sure, thats what comes up, but there is no pearl in the paint, i tried express before, and dupli color, and sherman williams auto paint even PPG, no exact match, but i give you props for helping. there is one link left, a buddy told me to call gm customer support and give them my vin and they can pull up the original build sheet back to 1998. the only problem is i'm locked in to buying from gm, which is spendy, i'm sure.
thanks much.:icon16:
up-date*** i stumbled on to the exact match by code and color name on automotivetouchup.com
has all the stuff from primer to base coat to clear coat. search by make, model, year, and a list came up and 86U came up as magnetic red metalic, turns out it was a left over from corvettes from like 96-99, and then the left overs went to gm general use.
thanks again.
