Undercoating on the frame rails.

I am about to try the Rhino bedliner roll on. The only difference is that I will use it as a undercoating on my frame rails, and wheel wells.

I understand that you can get this in other colors than just black. I am sick of seeing the light tinge of rust on my frame rails. I guess that I will use a wire wheel to remove the existing undercoating.

Anyone have any suggestions as to this beeing a good thing or could I posibly be setting myself up for problems?

The price is right and I know that it is tough as nails when it dries.

I think I might also try to inject my frame rails with waterproof foam. this will hopefully cut down on more of the road noise. Any suggestions on this?

I already have polyurethane body bushings, replaced the rubber a while ago.

I am trying to find a very good product to cover the fire wall, to deal with the heat and some of the unwanted sounds from the engine. Not all of the sounds, just the bad ones. And stop some of the heat that finds its way into the cabin.

Any suggestions are always welcome.

Let us know how the Rhino bedliner roll on stuff works on the frame rails, I was thinking about doing the samething to mine. I used the rubberized spray undercoating on mine last year and it seems OK, but I am looking for something a little more permanent. How much is it and where are you getting it from?

Stinger roadkill might be a good product for the firewall

i used rubberized undercoating from walmart on my frame rails and inner wheel wells. it was like 3-4 bucks for a can and i used 2 of them. on the frame it left a flat black finish, not tectured like truck bed lining. got it finished this past winter before the snow hit.

I sandblasted a patch of frame as a sample, painted it with Tremclad. Then I made a mistake and showered the wet paint with more sand while trying to hit the next section.
This has turned out being unbelievably tough, and I love the finish.

I'll be treating my (now former) bosses rear Ranger bumper to this same treatment, and seeing how it lasts there soon.
