hello everybody.
the turn signal switch is broken. Checked bya a tirecenter, over $450 for the new part! killing me...
try to repair it by myself.
I did some research. Here is my question for experts.
1. Do I really need to take off the airbag and steering wheel?
can I do it following this thread:
http://www.clubgp.com/cgi-asp/mods.asp?modid=141
2. do I need a leg for the steering wheel puller ?
because somewebsite said it is necessary for NEW GM cars like parkave.
http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/kd3510.html
3. if possible, would you pls tell me where I can find a exact detailed procedure for this job?
thank you very much.

Welcome to AF, not sure if the airbag comes off, I believe the procedure is different for w bodies., you will need a shop manual or a subscription to something like alldata.com. This is really not a first time job, between the airbag system and buying a wheel puller you may not find it wise to tackle this. I am saying this as a general observation, not knowing your level of experience.

thank you for your reply.
it is my first time, so I have to be very careful. But I think I can handle it.

sigh,..I failed.
have to turn the wheel to access the four holes on the back of the steering wheel. But I can't turn it without power steering.
Iwil take it to a workshop tomorrow.
I found this website is helpful. http://www.autowoods.com/1998-02_guide.htm
