hood latch position

I noticed that my hood sticks up in the front about 1/2" of where it should be. I've adjusted the little rubber bumper things on either side, and the hood latches correctly, but does the whole latch mechanism move up and down to adjust for vertical position? I know the little metal tang thing on the hood is immovable. Thanks for your advice.
