95 side tranny cover

Has anyone ever replaced the side transmission cover on an axod Metric taurus 3.0 tranny? all the parts stores say how common it is for those things to rust out and leak but I haven't had any advice on how to get the thing out of there.

Just got the same problem with my 98. Since it just started, I was able to plug the leak with JB Stik by JB weld which is an epoxy putty that you can apply on wet surfaces. I first put fluorescent dye in the transmissions fluid and then with a black light I could see approximately where the leak was on the side. Still not being able to pinpoint the leak, I applied two sticks and stopped it from leaking. I don't see this as a permanent solution but it will hopefully buy me another year before I sell it. Otherwise, I see no way to get the cover off without pulling the transmission.
