disconnect the battery for a minutes or two then reconnect.

Just pull the 10a hazard fuse and the 15a ecu fuse in the under hood fuse box. No battery disconnecting, no radio/clock resetting...

Actually just the hazard fuse will be sufficient, taken straight from the service manual.

Actually, no it isn't. You sometimes must pull the ECU fuse or it will not reset EVERY code.

Well, I pulled the hazard fuse when I had code 17 (speedometer cable)... popped out... and it didnt' do a damn thing. Then I pulled the ECU fuse and it reset the computer and cleared the code. Now I pull both every time. Like yesterday when the damn speedo cable popped out again. Or when my dizzy replacement crapped out the crank angle sensor after 2 days (code 4)...

I had a speedo code as well, cluster was unhooked, Ive never pulled the ECU fuse, and its long gone..several times over now.

Hello me again, pulling the fuses did not fix my problem. I was able to get a code off the ECU and it is 8, do you know that means.

Pulling the fuse wasnt meant to fix anything, rather to just clear out any random codes and show you the pertinent ones..#8 is the top dead center sensor.
Here is a troubleshooting flowchart to help you out, my wires were disconnected, it also would make it buck going down the road with steady throttle..

the ecu will sample the code (check to see if the problem still exists) like every 50 or 60 miles. If it looks for the problem again (code), and the problem has been fixed, it will erase the code on it's own. So, even if you don't reset the code, the ecu will eventually get rid of it when the problem is fixed.
