#1 - Update. I posted thread earlier about used engine being put into my spec-v. I talked to the guy and the word is that they put an automatic engine into the manual spec-v. If the engine is automatic, it definitely came from a SE-R, but you guys here on the forums let me know they are both the same engine in the SE-R and Spec-V. *heres the problem*... i dont know about this but, is it a PROBLEM that they put an engine that runs off an automatic transmission into the manual trans Spec-V? When i spoke to the guy, the way he said it.. it sounded like they had some confusion at the shop and what they did was a bit of a problem..... (answer that for me if any of yall can)
#2 - After this engine was put in, I drove it for a day and I noticed that car is "hunting" (i believe that is the term)... i described that the car was pulling/accelerating slightly even without me putting my foot on the gas.... its also idling at about 1,300-1,400 RPM's.... so thats the term he gave me for the problem *hunting*..but... the question is...whats the science behind this problem? is it horrible for the car? like whats happening, haha u guys have to bear with me. I am one paranoid fool, but if any of u guys can give me detailed response for all these questions id appreciate it! It's just when you pay several thousand dollars to have work done at a shop on a car you love, i really want to be a bit educated on whats going on. So thats why im here, lol u guys r like my personal mechanics haha. Thanks.

^^^^^ bingo, they prolly kept your old ecu, you can correct your idle by doing an idle re-learn............go to b15sentra.net and search for "idle relearn" and there is a writeup on how to do it, this should fix your high idle and hunting..........an engine isnt automatic, a tranny is, there is no difference in the actual motor itself

i just all the engine codes up in a sticky and teh relearn since that is getting more common...did the research for him while i was at it. just gonna get a mod to sticky it for sure though.
