KazeTech who's website shut down a while ago is now selling there spyder racer x speed covers on ebay. The guy was great. I missed the auction contacted him and he listed one just for me. 315 shipped :) I'm excited. The owner now just sells them on ebay.
I'll let you guys know how it fits when I get it. I can't wait. I need to figure out how to block out behind my seats and in under this. I want it removable so I can cruise with it and when I want to and if I need to carry a person take it off. It's supposedly fast to do. I was thinking fiberglassing a cabinet type thing. So that I can then go and use it for lockable storage. I don't plan on removing the seat. You supposedly don't have to.
Nice thing is you can put the top up with it on in case you hit rain. The conertible boot fits perfectly in the trunk and the top can raise over this.
WOOT!

my only problem with it is that you must remove the back portion of the seat to install. Which isn't too big of a deal. It's 2 bolts. Carry a socket with you. Then place the back of the seat on top of the bottom of that seat. Or up against the back of the front drivers seats to block the wind? I'm going to have to get creative with fiberglass.
I just built my sub in under the top though. So we will have to see how this changes the sound.. *shrugs shoulders* I may have to build an actual box now. I didn't buy the part that makes your back seat into a box.
It aparently fastens using the rear seat belt parts. I'm excited.

yeah I got shafted and had to move out of my garage for a bit. My sister has a graduation party (grad from highschool) so my parents wanted to clean up the garage and get the blue paint out of there.
I'm driving around with about 5 coats on the car. It needs probably 2-3 more. Red still shows through the slightest bit. Needs a few more coats. Then a polish. I didn't get to sanding the last coat so it's still glossy till i lay the others on. Also need some more coats where I had to bondo. Some said i could do it outside but I don't trust it because of the dust. I dont' want to have to sand that stuff out then.
For the spoiler ( cause I bought the gst) I ended up welding the holes shut, beating the crap out of them with a hammer to dent them in and then smothing it out with bondo. I still havn't figured out how to get the new spoiler to mount. I don't see where the holes are going to go without removing part of the trunk support.
Gotta wait till the 19th to start painting again :/ I should have pictures before that though. My new memory card reader comes in a few days.
here is another car that just got painted the same way im doing mine: it looks decent. He gave up on sanding he got tired of it.. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2655425&page=0&fpart=3&vc=1 it's about half way down the page. It's now yellow.
Oh well it's a work in progress and it still looks better then 80% of the cars around here. (will be closer to 95 once the paint is done lol). Most cars tend to run around with primered body kits for ever.

If I had a spyder I would own that in a second.....
Actually I wonder if it would still fit the coupes with a bit of customizing. I would LOVE to just get rid of my rear seats, but still make it look nice. I could even make a nice little tool box in there....
hmmmmm

That is one thing EVERY dsmer should have, a toolbox in their car.

crunchy: I don't think it's gonna fit in a hard top, first of all it sits on my back window pillars. So the problem exists that you don't really have those in a coupe. The spyder has 2 side windows on each side.
The second is I think our back seat is smaller then a coupe. There is definately alot more room between passengers in the back. Our back seats also don't flip down.
I'm sure however you could make it yourself. Perhaps just try to put together some foam board and glue it to each other. Then use a hot wire to cut it smooth. Then fiberglass over it. That would most likely be your best bet. Could lead to an interesting project.
Now If only I could find a hard top that sat onto the coupe. I hate leaving the soft top out in the elements in the winter.

LOL so true. I certainly have mine in there... came in handy a few times.
Some people build custom sub enclosures in their trunks, we build custom enclosures for our tool boxes.

haha, my tools are just scattered around my backseat. I had them in a wal-mart bag, but that broke. I really need a toolbox.

it just came today... http://www.novaslp.net/pics/v/newcar2/speedcover/ It seems pretty sturdy. I loved his packing. He had pillows wrapped around the ends but it worked just fine!
The shot of the underside is kinda crappy but it has 2 blocks fastened to it with straps for the seatbelts to go through.
this should be interesting to setup. we shall see how it all goes and works out...
I'll roll it sometime next week and get it on with pictures of it on the car.
