Luckily for you, you have a 1g which means you will not throw any codes. Hell I had my cat off for about 3 months(my boost crept so much) and because there is no sensor your car wont know any better. Anything will help the flow-but will you notice anything? I doubt it. But if you have the cat off already and have some free time go right ahead and gut the hell outta it.

i live in the Philly area "home to the Emissions" they will fail your car for anything they can come up with around here. so i thought if i could gut the stock cat how would they know if it was gutted? putting in a test pipe would be stupid to do due to it give's it away
