EGR Valve

I have replaced the EGR Valve, EGR Tube, DPFE Sensor, and EGR Solinoid just recently due to my CEL coming on. I ran the code and it said "EGR Flow Insufficient." I cleaned the carbon out of the system thoroughly and I still get the code after about two cycles of driving. Did I forget to replace something else? The car is running so much better yet I am still getting the CEL. I should also mention that there is no vacuum leak and the valve opens when it is supposed to. I'm baffled. I don't get any misfire, knocking, pinging, or anything. The car runs really good!

use a vac pump and open the valve while, at idle, the car should stumble if it does that means enough flow and your problem is electrical, perhaps maybe the hoses running to the DPFE.

yes i did. im startin to believe that there is an electrical problem. i have a spare computer for the car im gonna swap computers and see what happens. i know that before i did the EGR system, i cleaned out the entire system of carbon, replaced all parts of the EGR system, then cleaned out the system again. after all this i replaced the O2 sensors, however it dawned on me today that i never changed the spark plugs and wires after i did all this. i pulled a spark plug out today and it was really covered up with carbon deposits. i have a feeling that is problem why i am still getting the CEL and code for the EGR flow. i'm going to do the spark plugs and wires saturday. first, i will clean the system out once again of any carbon bulid up (i really don't think there is any), then i am going to replace the spark plugs and wires. lets see what happens then.

i would first try disconnecting the batter both termanals and take a wrench and touch the two cables together for about a min this will ground out and power in the system thus resting everything back to ford specs then let it sit for bout 15 min with the battery un hooked then hook it back up and u should lose all your pre sets and your clock should be at 12:00 then when u start it it will run like s**t just take it for a drive and drive normal then look for the cel again

Well, its pretty damn obvious that these year town car's sensors are horrible. Maybe nothing it wrong with it at all.

I was having an un-explained EGR problem, with P0171 and P0174 codes as well. Cleaned out everything EGR related (there was no soot in there) and still had the codes.
Took someone's advice and had a look at the MAF Sensor, sure enough, there was a hair and plenty of crud on the wires. Cleaned the wires, re-set the OBDii system, and viola.. no more problems with the CEL.

Yep, Cobradude hit the nail on the head. I'm not positive of the Torx Bit number either, I have the whole Security (tamper proof) set so I just tried them till I found the right size, didn't pay attention to the number on the Bit.
The Torx head is a six point star pattern, and the security head has a stud in the center preventing the Bit from going into the head of the screw. The Bit has a hole drilled in the end that fits over the stud in the head allowing the tool to enter the screw head.
I got my 33pc set (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93388) from the local Harbor Freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93388) for $2.99 (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93388) + local tax
