Changing ignition switch on a Passat '92

Hi!
I'm about to buy a used ignition switch for my passat since the old one isn't working (the start engine isn't running when I turn the key, so I'm using a button to start it at the moment.) Can I use my existing lock cylinder so I don't have to have two keys for my car?
