98 cavy, abs/battery lights

i have no idea whats up with this cavalier. let me explain.

Problem 1
weeks ago, it began to just "shut off", either while coming to a stop sign, or switching out of reverse. it does it about 1-2x weekly.

Problem 2
the battery light came on yesterday, so i figure id check it today. figured it was a battery or alt problem. the car starts fine, runs fine, and all electronics work for now.

now today, the abs light came on? so now the battery and abs lights are on????

this car is not really worth much. if maintenence starts to pile up, itll be gone. the car has about 103k on it. not in the best shape looks wise, but pretty ok mechanical wise until this stuff.

Sounds like my experience when my alternator started to go. Odd lights would come on and off. Changed the alternator and it was good to go, although it went bad after 6 months, changed it again and it has been fine ever since. Battery always seemed to be charged, but it is like the regulator is not working
